Experiment with the artificial motion blur

As the digital world evolves things become more “blurry” between reality and virtuality. Nowadays many factory brochures contain artifically generated images with no real movement on the pic but movement that has been made trough post process. Being a photographer you better keep up with these techniques, therefore I had to give it a go myself to.

I believe the most difficult things or things to take note of are:

  • Getting the speed right (wheels to match with the background’s blur)
  • Understanding visually that things in the foreground blur more than things in the distance
  • Brake calipers
  • Tyre threads
  • Angle of the car, if you get it right you could save yourself from a lot of extra time

Not perfect, but I’m already happy how spectacular the conversion is. Hereby attaching two versions I’ve made out of this one still image.
