I was always chasing opportunities for potential co-op with other companies, and there was no exception with Jack Iron.

I did find them on the internet randomly, and sent them a message explaining what I do and where I think we could benefit from a collaboration. The rest is now history as they used to say…

I’ve got an amazing bag from them which was even personalized with my own name inside. As we’ve been hitting the alps to shoot for Mercedes-Benz, it was no question I had to put it to a test…

Such a perfect match with the new G500 (btw a separate entry can be expected from that too).

I’m usually on the other side of the lenses, but as I had no male model with me, I had to make an exception 🙂

Expansion – Ford Hungary joins the “game”

Bit by bit, company by company I’m getting there…

There means a dream I’ve had, to be able to shoot as many different cars as possible, to try them to spend a little time with them.

A few months ago I’ve been approaching Ford Hungary to see if they would support a potential co-op where I’d be generating some photographic content as well as I’d help them to reach more people trough my own channels (yes, now I can say with the amount of followers I do have some influence, even if it’s not that big yet, it would be stupid to neglect the power of social media).

So our first project started off with the Ford EcoSport, that is in essence not the most unique car that Ford offers these days, but that was the challenge, a challenge that made me think what and how to show.

This is how I came to the conclusion I need a dog to model for me, to convey the message of the active lifestyle that SUVs are representing these days. This is how I got Duncan, who is a English Setter and one of the best models I’ve been working with (of course thanks to his owner’s help 🙂 ).

I always love to shoot cars that have a color, this might sound obvious or stupid, but believe or not these days almost everyone buys black, grey or white cars, and rarely people tend to be brave and buy something in red, yellow etc. Funny thing is that I’d buy a black or white car only too :).

The sunset was an obvious choice to use it’s advantages to shoot the car at this time of the day, needless to say why…

I hope the story continues and if everything goes well, I’ll be back with more of Ford’s current models in front of my lenses.

Day ‘N Night with Seat Hungary

Shaking things up with Hyundai Hungary

Yes, yet an other brand steps in to the collaboration model I’ve been practicing, participating in with other car-brands!
This time it’s Hyundai, the Korean manufacturer. Hyundai Hungary was really open-minded and responded immediately on my request, starting with one of their new star the I30.

Testing Sigma’s Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6,3 DG OS HSM C lens at the Slovakia Ring

As you have probably seen trough my previous blog entry, we started a collaboration with Sigma Photo Hungary.

This occasion is now the 2nd, where they supported me with one of their demo lenses, this time with a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6,3 DG OS HSM C.

This being a telephoto lens, I had to try it on the race track, and this is where the invitation from my friends at Vehicle Experts came handy, as they’ve organized their first Track Event on Slovakia Ring. This made everything perfect for a nice little testing of this lens.

Not because of our collaboration neither because I’m grateful for Sigma Photo Hungary, but I have to say I’m truly astonished by the capabilities of this lens. First and most importantly it’s focal coverage is extraordinary and 600mm even on a full frame body (like my Canon 6D) is amazing. You can sit in a chair and shoot everything around without the need to walk anywhere 🙂 Than this being the “C” version which means “Contemporary” is basically the “cheaper” version, and basically considering it’s price it’s a really good buy overall. Even the focus, I guess the S (Sport) version is even quicker but was relatively fast, usually it was rather my fault that I did not manage to get the speeding cars on time.

After coming back home I was really surprised seeing how great the images turned out, and with a little bit of after-care I’ve got amazing images from the track, from people and details without having bothered anyone.

Last but not least I must warn anyone who intend to buy it, it’s pretty heavy so you better start to go to work out first 🙂

Going on the spree with GTspirit

It all started with an entry on one of the FB groups I follow from my friend Philipp, asking for possible locations to shoot at in Budapest. Being a fellow Automotive photographer I did help him by sending over some…what came after is basically going to be one of the best adventures I had this year.

After changing messages after message Philip asked me if’d like to join them, since after arrival to Budapest they have had a nice restaurant booked and I should be joining them to accompany the shooting. I decided to say yes, cuz hey a nice restaurant and meeting up with a great photog friend could not be resisted right? 🙂

When I arrived he started with the following, that still echoes in my mind… “There is a small problem, the rest of the team is tired and they already drank alcohol so it would be only you and me taking the AMG GT C and the G500 4×4 squared to shoot” Yeah, right how terrible news is that? 🙂 no wonder than I was shocked. We went with my car to the Ritz Hotel (those who don’t know one of the most fancy hotels in Budapest) to pick up the two cars…getting the keys, giving the VW CC’s key to the valet was kinda awkward moment, but than sitting in the GT C firing it up and getting the roof down, seeing the neon Green G500 in the mirror changed my mood rapidly from “sh1t his is awkward” to “damn, all eyez on us”.

We headed to an abandoned big storage building we decided to aim for, and we managed to sneak in. This was the place where we’ve been planning some light-painting and other stuff. We have been interrupted by young couples and by other guys who were wondering around but luckily we managed to pull out 1-2 nice shots…

…before 4-5 police cars came in and started to ask us to immediately pack our stuff and head outside where there are other police colleagues waiting for us…at this point I must admit I was quite scared what comes next with two guys, two really expensive cars and with no knowledge about the whereabouts of our cars with a German licence plate + having no idea about what the cops will want from us.

Well, it did not take long to find out, as they explained they are explicitly hunting that place occasionally as they have to because of the building being not that safe + lots of illegal racers visiting. After all hereby I’d like to thank to them that they were acting really nice and that they let us go with only a “warning”.

After this we got so “pumped up” we decided to hit the road again into the night and visit my second proposal, an old factory district. As we arrived we parked the cars to take a look around when we saw a place where people were still working with some sort of metal melting in an old hall. Both of us being a photog we looked on each others and almost immediately said “This would be a nice place to shot at”. We started to continue to look around and found an old man cleaning his car in front of the factory, we said “Hi” and he responded plus asked if we know what kind of work is being done there…that’s it, this was the moment I pulled Philipp away and told him I’ll give that old guy a little money and ask if we can get in. So I did…the old man looked at the money and immediately started to shout inside: “Open up the gates, someone will come to photo-shoot a car!”

After we’ve finished, we went back to the hotel. I had to exchange the keys to the VW’s and left with full of excitement and the memories of this almost surrealistic adventure.

“Built Rough” – our adventures with the G63 in Tirol

First thing first this post should have been published a while ago. Thing is -who follow my work probably knows- I’ve been working with Mercedes-Benz for a while now, this is how I ended up sitting in one of the most iconic 4x4s of all time which happened to be the 571HP version…known as Mercedes-AMG G63, heading from Stuttgart to Tyrol, Austria where our hotel got booked. The car (or truck or just the “G”) is one of my fav 4x4s, I’ve heard countless stories about it’s capabilities but what impresses me the most is that they are, I think I’m right in saying #strongerthantime. Amazing how little the square shape and the basic principle has changed over the time. Doesn’t matter if you just look at it, specially in this amazing designo Night Black Magno color (special edition 1 color). The best thing in a “G” is that usually you can find and go to spots to shoot where your imagination and or bravery brings you…

And must admit it does look good on the road too!

The interior did get a bit more sophisticated over the time but you can still feel the roughness sitting in...

Thing is, this place, the mountains and the rough conditions were a perfect match to this machine.

And this is a car you only drive in boots, rather than in anything else...

...it looks better if it's dirty than if it's clean.

Being in Tirol we had to visit Lago di Livigno too, which specially thanks to the snow started to fall was such a charming place.

Speaking of snow and weather we had all sorts of it...

When on our last day, on the Silveretta Hohalpenstrasse miracle happened...which started with the usual foggy and rainy weather in the mountains...

And than ended up giving us one of the most mesmerizing moments we had that year, a winter wonderland with no-one around just us, the roaring V8 of the G63 and the mountains.

Sigma Photo Magyarorszag – An other dream comes true

I always dreamed about being able to grab some lenses for a limited period of time from some big brands…and I never thought this time would come and actually Sigma Photo Magyarország would stand right behind me to support my work.

Following this line of thought you could expect what is coming…yes, I’ve had the honor to try one of their new (for me probably the second best after my 35 Art) 135 1.8 ART lenses. And what better ways to test than having a car to shoot, right?! Yeah right! And this is where the whole story gets a bit even more dreamy, as to complement the great equipment I’ve got a great car from Pappas Auto, their Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupé!

I was always facinated by those interesting, quite heavy edits of pit-stop photos I’ve seen from other talented photogs on the internet.

After visiting Hungaroring for the event called Hungaroring Classics I had to do an experiment on my own to see what am I capable of. You can see the before after in a nice slider below. Enjoy!
